I am really in need of a local gardener and landscaper. But where to look?
I must say that developing a lawn is a good idea. No, let me correct that, it is the best idea anyone could have thought! First, you are able to add green stuffs in our environment. Which is highly appreciated for it can contribute more oxygen. Second, you are spending your free time on something productive. Well, not unlike other things, this is really meaningful and relaxing on your end. It can be hard to start. Eventually, as you see your plants grow every day, you will surely feel happy, peaceful and relaxed at all times.
But the main question is ARE YOU READY? Taking care of a lawn is not a big joke. You have to devote a lot of your time and effort to successfully complete it. If you do not have the ability to do so, then you must think twice.
Yes indeed, it takes lots of time and effort to develop your lawn. Just imagine, you have to check your soil, find the right fertilizer, and test seeds that will fit your weather, water them and be with your plants to trim or explore them. This is not such an easy task to do. Thus, it is very time consuming.
Fix your schedule. Set your priorities and label them. Then ask yourself again, I am ready to plant and make my lawn look good? If yes, then go ahead and start creating a checklist. This checklist is supposed to guide you with the things you need to learn about lawn and garden care. It may include landscaping, seeds, soil testing, watering plants schedule, fertilizer and a lot more.
As the old people say, you can never take care of anything, unless you are ready yourself. So, reflect on it and think. Your enthusiasm will make your lawn and garden look like a seventh heaven. So, don’t waste your opportunity!

A very important note about your soil on lawn & garden care.
You must be wondering how important each detail of lawn and garden is. Some will normally tell you to just plant something and move one. However, the truth is you have to consider a huge list of things to make it perfect. Of course, we want a fruitful garden, don’t we?
In your garden, I am sure that you can see different kinds of soil. You must have a time when it is all mixed up in one place and hard to seperate. We have three kinds; loamy, clay and sandy. Let us get to know each and see what is best for your plants.
Normally, you can see sandy in the beach or anywhere near a new built house. Sad to say that this is a no no to use with your plants. Among other soils, water passes through sandy and your plant will not be able to absorb it. Thus, it can dry your plants.
Clay is mostly seen everywhere. It is thick. Thus, it is very ununsual that a plant can live in this kind of soil. This is because it has a very slow water absorption. Again, it can dry up your plants.
Last but not the least is loamy. You have learned in your elementary years that this soil is what we call the “plant soil”. A loam clay is composed of a little of clay and sandy soil. It is technically any plants best friend! It is not that loose and not that thick. It is perfect for water absorption.
Now that we have discussed the different soils, I hope you now know what type of which to use. Again, it is important for you to know your soil. Since, it plays a big role to make or break your wonderful garden.

Hey there!
You just bought your new house. Congrats!
It’s a nice house and it’s going to be called you’re home very soon.
But what is a house without a lawn. There is no better living without those green things outside your windows.
I may be a tech guy and don’t know about planting but I am very much familiar of the internet.
Oh! I have a notebook. Let’s get online. Lets learn about dollar spot lawn disease.
Let’s Google it. Let’s type “lawn and garden care”.
Let’s get the top result. It is from United States Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service.
Let’s see.
One deep watering is much better than watering several times lightly. Lawns need about 1 inch of water each week. If the weather is very hot, apply an inch of water about every 3 days. Watering to a depth of 4-6 inches encourages deeper, healthier root development. It allows longer periods between watering. To measure the water, put an empty tuna can (or cat food can) on the lawn while watering. Stop watering when the can is full or if you notice water running off the lawn.
Different soil types have different watering needs. You don’t need to be a soil scientist to know how to water your soil properly. Loosen the soil around plants so it can quickly absorb water and nutrients.
Early morning or night is the best time for watering to reduce evaporation. You have to water at the right time of the day. Water when it’s not windy to help control where your water goes.
A soil test will help you understand what your plants require. Local fertilizer dealers can also be helpful. You can leave the grass clippings to decompose on the lawn. Annually, this will provide nutrients equivalent to one or two fertilizer applications. Set mower at 2 inches to reduce water use during hot weather.
Pesticides can pollute water when used incorrectly. They also kill beneficial as well as harmful insects. Natural alternatives prevent both of these events from occurring and save you money. Consider using natural alternatives for chemical pesticides. Non-detergent insecticidal soaps, garlic, hot pepper sprays, 1 teaspoon of liquid soap in a gallon of water, used dishwater, or forceful stream of water to dislodge insects.

Gardenind can be not only fun, but also a good way to provide your family with fresh and delicious herbs and vegetables. Many good looking plants with beautiful flowers can also be transformed in a delicious dinner. Like zucchini, for example. It is very easy to grow, it looks great, with his big yellow flowers, and a single plant can produce enough zucchinis to eat during the entire summer. Just buy a pack of seeds and put them in fertile soil in April, and, by June, you will harvest your first zucchini. The plant will continue to produce zucchini until mid-October.
Another great idea is to plant aromatic herbs, like parsley, coriander, oregano, sage. They smell very well, they look really decorative and they are the fresh ingredients you need for the perfect salad. Choose a nice corner of your garden for the aromatic plants. Many of them, like oregano and rosemary, last through the winter in the soil and will grow the next spring in the same place. Some of these aromatic herbs can be grown from seed, but it is much easier to buy seedlings. You can put most of the seedlings in the garden, but keep some for an indoor pot. This way, you can enjoy fresh herbs during the winter.
For a nice looking hedge in your garden, plant some green beans next to a wall or fence. In just a few weeks, the wall will be all dressed up in green, with small, delicate pink, white or red flowers. Another few weeks down the road, the flowers will transform in delicious fresh haricots. Sunflower is an actual flower, but his seeds are really tasty and wholesome. So, buy some fresh, un roasted sunflower seeds and put them in the ground in late March or early April. By August, you will have stunningly, huge yellow flowers and, two months later, you can snack on your own sunflower seeds.

The common problem of many is that, they have pets at home. We all know how irritable these animals are with plants around. Well, not unless they are used to it. Animals have this sense of defense when they see something new or unusual. Thus, we must always keep in mind to make sure that our animals are well disciplined or not we keep them away from our lawn for the meantime.
A good sample of an animal that does the destruction is dogs and cats. Since, these are the common animals we have as our house pet. Most of them get jealous when they see you spending more time with your plants than with them as before. Some thinks that these plants are strange and they should be removed. Some are just naughty and would just like to destroy your plants.
You have to let your pets get used to your garden before you start anything. You can purchase small pots of plants until you inculcate to your pet that this is not his toy. They have to get used to it. You have to train them that this is something for them to guard and take good care of.
Another thing is jealousy. You have to balance your attention with your pet and your lawn. Make them feel that you still love them. This is even if there is something new. These pets have emotions and they want to feel loved at all times. Thus, having something to cut off your attention can be something not nice for them.
If you really can’t control your pets, then you have to restrict them. I will not suggest you placing them inside the cage. Well, perhaps you can put a small fence around your lawn so they can’t enter.
True that they can also be a factor on breaking or making your lawn. This is just a few tips for you as you go along with taking care of your garden.
